Sixteen Days…

May 23rd, 2005 by patchmonkey

Well, once again I decided to let my blog sit all alone for a while.

It’s been a very busy few weeks. Finals ended on May 10th, and now I’m just waiting for my grades. I’m at the point where I just want to get them so the entire thing is over with - but the waiting is the hardest part, I suppose.

What have I been doing? Well, I’ve been spending a lot of time out with various friends, both law school-y and not. I’ve been to the Continental Midtown, Red Sky, Loie, McCrossen’s, McGillin’s, P.J.’s (of course), Kaminski’s, the Irish Pub, L’Hexagone, Rouge…and probably one or two more.

So, yes, it appears that I’ve been busy. I’ve also been working on my case comment to get on the Rutgers Law Journal, which is due June 1st. Journal is quite important to get on, especially since I’ve been considering teaching one day. (And of course, grades, I hope those are good as well.)

Otherwise, I’ve been me…I’ve been yelling at news stories about the Senate trying to get rid of filibusters; I’ve been reading articles about how Bush’s War is killing good men and women in our armed forces but the Chickenhawks who so desperately wanted to go to war don’t want to serve; I’ve been writing letters to politicians…As Barry McGuire (and quite possibly also Bob Dylan said:

Yeah, my blood’s so mad, feels like coagulatin’,
I’m sittin’ here, just contemplatin’,
I can’t twist the truth, it knows no regulation,
handful of Senators don’t pass legislation,
and marches alone can’t bring integration,
when human respect is disintegratin’,
this whole crazy world is just too frustratin’,
and you tell me over and over and over again my friend,
ah, you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.

Other than that, I’m doing alright. I’m also asking anyone who can figure out girls to please let me know as soon as they do.

Howstuffworks “How Lightsabers Work”
Chances are that you have seen a lightsaber at one time or another, whether on the evening news or down at the local cantina. Therefore you know that a lightsaber is an amazing and versatile device that is able to cut through nearly anything in a matter of milliseconds.

2005 - announced as Einstein Year - marks the centenary of the publication of Albert Einstein’s equation E = mc2. To mark this occasion, Sandy Starr at spiked and science communicator Alom Shaha have conducted a survey of over 250 renowned scientists, science communicators, and educators - including 11 Nobel laureates - asking what they would teach the world about science and why, if they could pick just one thing. Alom Shaha, who conceived the survey, has made four accompanying films in which interviewees talk through their responses.
